Terms of Service

1. Scope and Subject Matter

These Terms of Service govern your use of the TrailDB platform, including our website, mobile progressive web application, trail database, mapping tools, and reconnaissance community services (collectively, the "Service").

By registering an account, logging in, or accessing any part of TrailDB, you enter into a legally binding contract with TrailDB and agree to comply with these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and our Community Guidelines.

2. Closed Beta Testing Program

TrailDB is currently provided in an active Closed Beta Testing phase. During this beta period:

• The Service is made available to authorized beta testers for testing, feedback, and surface validation.
• Features, reconnaissance schemas, and algorithms may change without prior notice.
• While we make every effort to ensure reliable data storage, TrailDB is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We encourage testers to maintain offline copies of critical personal GPX tracks.

3. User Accounts and Eligibility

To submit surface reconnaissance, save routes, or sync external profiles, you must create a TrailDB account:

• One Account Per User: Each rider may maintain only one active account. Automated or shared bot accounts are prohibited.
• Accuracy: You agree to provide a valid email address and maintain accurate account details.
• Credential Confidentiality: You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and two-factor authentication tokens. You must notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorized access.
• Age Requirements: You must be at least 16 years of age (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to register an account.

4. User-Generated Content and Licensing

TrailDB thrives through community-contributed surface intelligence. When you post photos, surface ratings (G1–G5), notes, or routes:

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited actions:

• Harvesting, scraping, spidering, or copying data from TrailDB using automated tools without written permission.
• Uploading false, malicious, or intentionally inaccurate trail hazard markers.
• Publishing private residential property coordinates, restricted military zones, or unauthorized nature reserves as public riding trails.
• Using the platform for unauthorized advertising, promotional spam, commercial tours, or marketing campaigns.
• Attempting to bypass security mechanisms, access restrictions, or administrative controls.

6. Third-Party Integrations (Strava, Maps)

TrailDB interacts with external platforms such as the Strava API and OpenStreetMap map tiles. Your use of those external services is governed by their respective terms of service. TrailDB is not responsible for the continuous availability or modification of third-party APIs.

7. Suspension and Termination

You may terminate your account at any time. TrailDB reserves the right to suspend or permanently ban accounts, remove uploaded content, or restrict access if a user repeatedly breaches these Terms, violates our Community Guidelines, or poses a risk to community safety.
